Private Garden Photography Commission

Photography based in Devon & Somerset

As I write, it’s January. I’ve been waiting 4 months to show you this stunning set of garden photography images. Back in September, I took a private commission to photograph a garden in Devon. It was a Christmas present, from a son to a Mum, and so I couldn’t post it until now.

I couldn’t choose the type of light I wanted because I could only do it whilst she (the garden owner) was out, which was on just one day during the week we planned. But, I think the light has worked quite beautifully.

By the end of summer, the garden has a new season. The light is different, the plants look different, and the bees and insects are squeezing in the last of their hard work for the year. It’s still so warm at this time of year, so on this shoot I was actually in shorts! Usually, being a garden photographer, in Somerset and Devon, means early starts or later in the day when it’s not as warm.

It must have been nice for the Mum to see the glory of her garden, at a time when it’s cold and dark.
