Yes, it’s back! I love this time of year; May is (usually) when the climate gives us that taste of summer around the corner. The days are long, the plants and trees and blooming and everything is green.
I particularly love RHS Malvern Festival as a plant and garden photographer. It’s the highlight of the year. I meet garden designers and hear their stories, take lots of plant photos to inspire people, and there’s always a mariachi band playing to make you feel like you’re on holiday. The show gardens at Malvern this year were incredibly creative, full of talent, and passion for nature. I enjoyed the focus on wildflowers and animals in a lot of the gardens, and that Laura’s garden is being taken to an NHS garden afterwards. Jamie was telling me he even created little pathways through the plants for the wildlife. Britain has some very special wildlife, nothing like it, I was so delighted to see them being thought about. Bees too, over at Rick Ford and Katie Gentle’s garden.
